Pop music genre is huge, and totally deserve to publish an item about it. Pop music is fairly simply to describe, it stands for popular music, so any song or album that was really or is popular could be pop. But it is not that simple, because people prefer to be recognized for their individuality inside a group of other people. For that reason, every music genre have distinct fashion, way of life, behavior... and so on. For instance, The Cure's album “Disintegration" was chosen by online on specific music website, as # 4 most popular album of all time, but The Cure are far from been labeled pop band by many musical critics. Identical is with "Led Zeppelin IV" album which been sold in over 23 million prints, suggesting it was extremely popular, but you will not looked for Led Zeppelin under pop music shelves.
To list 10 best pop music albums is relatively challenging job, and it requires a great deal of research, online assessments, listening the albums ... and so on. Of course, it likewise depends upon individual type one prefer, so I guess, many will not agree with my choice of best pop albums?

There was a time when jazz music was pop, rock has sometimes been pop, rap has been pop ... but all of us realize what pop is, besides some sub-genre of the music spectrum. The terms "popular music" and "pop music" are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many types. "Pop" and "rock" were really synonymous terms until the late 60's, when they were increasingly used oppositional from each other. Pop music originated in its contemporary format in the USA and UK during the mid-50s, and some of greatest popular pop performer was awesome Frank Sinatra. Nevertheless, today all these has been changed, there are core components which specify pop music. Identifying elements include basically short to medium-length songs composed in a basic structure (often the verse-chorus framework), along with the common use of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks, and most of all, the song are very catchy. That is why many consider The Beatles a pop star (what they were once in their career), and so were The Beach Boys, Prince's album 1999, can be easily classified pop album, and so forth ... Anyways on my list there are no spot for them because I was searching for "pure" pop stars and their albums.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
It is so naturally to put on the list "the king of pop"! Apart from being musical among the very best pop album, Thriller came to be, and presently stay, the world's best-selling album, with estimated sales of 66 million copies sold off. The album gained a record-breaking number of 8 Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year. Seven singles were launched from the record, each one of which hit the top 10 on the US. Michael Jackson was one of the excellent music artists of modern-day periods, he was popular since he was a kid singing with his brothers in Jacksons 5, when he was already a superstar. Three years after his personal début album The Wall, Michael Jackson and his producer Quincey Jones came up with this masterpiece of pop, funky, R&B, in some moments amazing jazzy pop... Love it or dislike it, Thriller is pop's fantastic, indisputable popular music champ.

Madonna - Like a Prayer
If Michael Jackson was the king of the pop, Madonna was and somehow is the queen of the pop. Like a Prayer, besides being excellent pop music album is real material, and no place is that more obvious than on the title tune. Opening with a sudden blast of stun-gun guitar, "Like a Prayer" seems initially like a conflict among the spiritual and the sacrilegious since Madonna's vocal is alternatively driven by a dissonant, bass-heavy funk riff and framed by a heavenly aura of backing vocals. The album uses live instrumentation and incorporates elements of dance, funk, gospel, and soul into a more general pop style, with outstanding production. Of all Madonna's 80's classic recordings, taking into account this, everything about it from the product packaging, to the production, to the material, the lyrics, etc., was much more planned and thoroughly produced compared to the albums preceding this ... Even though, "Like a Prayer" is not one of my preferred Madonna albums, for many this is iconic pop album of all time.

ABBA - Arrival
At the time ABBA started working on their 4th album in August 1975, they had accomplished a moderate degree of success around the world. It was with Arrival though that they would meet global superstardom to become the greatest name in the music enterprise - a title they would hold for the rest of the decade. Some of ABBA's finest hits on here, like Dancing Queen and Fernando and Knowing Me, Knowing you, and a few other less known but beautiful tracks of theirs like Dum Diddle and Tiger. ABBA never completely conquered the US that is very strange for not just is their music superb but ranks above most music from their recording period of 70s. I assume part of it was their singles. Most of their singles were definitely huge dance tracks. Remarkable music however not music to essentially make an audience intend to acquire a record. In any case, this album is pure pop music heaven, certainly not only for ABBA fans.

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster
As a growing number of female artist start to emerge as prominent pop music artists, exactly how can I not to list one of contemporary most popular pop entertainer. The Fame Monster is a fantastic record. Gaga is not only a one trick pony, she understands what she's doing (basically) and spills out catchy dance hits with simplicity while being an eccentric character on her own. And also while you might never notice listening to this album, she can actually sing and play the piano very well, skills you don't find on the majority of pop stars and are very well appreciated. Listening to Lady Gaga, I always had that feeling that she could be much more than a pop star. Her 2nd record, containing "Bad Romance" and "Speechless", finds her upcoming into her own as both a songwriter and a pop star. And as soon as she came to be hideously popular Gaga was able to take more control of her career, the very early outcome being "Bad Romance", perhaps the best pop single and best pop video of 2009.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
Truth be told there really isn't a bad song on this album. They aren't all "hits", however all of them offer excellent producing and writing. Rock music comes with this bad habit of being unpredictable. One never can tell the moment a rock band will go through that alchemic transmigration from lead to pop platinum. This happened to Fleetwood Mac, just one promising British rock band with the sources of American blues, but soon after Peter Green departed the band, they „ went their own way". The addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac suddenly became a California pop group; instead of tiresome blues/rock jams they started turning out bright little three-minute singles with a hook in every chorus, which was actually not bad for music as well as for band members. Rumors proves that the success of Fleetwood Mac was no fluke. Fleetwood Mac's change from English blues to California folk-rock is not as extravagant as a few might assume. The very early Sixties blues scene in England had just as much to do using country American folk music as the popular blues sound, that was mainly a guitarist's obsession anyway.

Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad
Yet another woman on the list, but that's todays reality, if you just from time to time check out pop music charts. If you are not familiar with Rihanna music but wishing to discover more, this is a great way to find out it precisely and on key. This record has a lot more to like about it than merely its summertime mega-hit "Umbrella". "Umbrella" is compelling as event-pop, especially because of the detach between Rihanna's cool, professional distribution and the comforting charm of the lyrics. Fortunately, the majority of Good Girl Gone Bad actually does the contrary, miraculously transforming Rihanna's all-consuming blankness into an aesthetic resource. Having said that, with this album Rihanna demonstrated her capacity to break away from the young woman pop music that features the likes of Ciara, Kelly Clarkson and Fergie, and enroll in the ranks of Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Shakira……..and alike.

Eagles - Hotel California
No matter if it was done deliberately or otherwise, Hotel California came quite close to being a real concept album. Yes, you could say Hotel California is a concept album, it is rock album, but above all it is a pop rock album. All the good musicians, capable playing great rock music, yet on this album they (perhaps intentionally) move it to the limits of pop rock genre. And that's not bad at all because they did this in most sophisticated way, carefully mixing guitar riffs, pop rhythm, and catchy songs. Many said that the Eagles were probably at the creative top on this recording. But let us put it this way, simply by every standards this album is not the very best rock music album, but by all means is one of the best pop rock albums! Although the lyrical material of the album is up for debate, real beauty of Hotel California is the sound, a lot of which varied anything the Eagles had actually done before.

Shania Twain - Come On Over
Even though Shania Twain was primarily country music artist her top success were folk pop and pop music. With 35 million worldwide sales to this day, it is reasonable to claim that this record may be counted as one of the most surprising successes in music history. Although pop music is frequently heavily criticized on internet and other media, there are few pop albums which are as loaded with infectious tracks to the extent that this one is, with it being achievable to see virtually every song being introduced as a single. This is particularly obvious with the variety of small touches included on this album, which make it all the extra effective. The fact is Shaina is fantastic country music star (one of the very best), still, it's this album success is no doubt in its country, pop and rock blend helping to produce distinct sound that makes her stand apart from the others. Clearly, Shania Twain does not have the vocal of a Mariah Carey, someone who has one of the best voices in popular music these days, she has still one of the far better vocals in pop music. Having claimed that, there are a selection of tracks on here that rise above the rest of the album right into the field of truly brilliant pop songs. The most significant among these is the global blockbuster, Man! I Feel Like A Woman!

Celine Dion - Let's Talk About Love
"My Heart Will Go On" had a somewhat rugged path on its way to turning into one of the biggest romantic pop hits of all time. It first was composed as an instrumental motif for the movie Titanic, and film director James Cameron initially had no interest in it as a vocalized tune at the end of the film. Then Celine Dion was not considering recording it. Eventually, however, the celebrities straightened and the song became a global # 1 pop song. Let's Talk About Love and its tracks won many awards worldwide. This album turned into one of the best-selling albums in history, by sales of over 31 million copies across the globe. It topped the charts around the world, including number 1 in the United States, Canada, UK, France, Australia and many more. For Celine fans, this one is really treat. Amazing vocal and lovely album. In general an excellent album and I highly recommend for anybody who is a pop music fan.

Bee Gees - Horizontal
The best thing to do is to end this list with the beat music group that used pop music elements from the beginning of their career. Though a great deal of American and English bands in 60's were doing that, Bee Gees were really popish band most constantly (except in70's when they had great success with disco music). However of all bands alike, bros Gibb were one of the most popular and commercially the greatest. The Bee Gees have sold off more than 220 million records throughout the world, making them among the world's best-selling popular music artists of all time. In January of 1967, the Bee Gees launched 'Horizontal,' a showpiece of stately pop music. Tinted by influences ranging from The Beatles to Baroque, with 'Horizontal' the Bee Gees produced a near perfect pop record. After Horizontal was released, it seemed like to receive mixed responses from fans, most likely owing to it featuring a darker musical mood and a heavier musical sound than Bee Gees 1st. This was also the last Bee Gees album for some time that critics really did not accuse of being light-weight. Horizontal featured huge single hit “Massachusetts", yet I personally like “The Change Is Made", perhaps because it's least popish, actually it does not fit within pop category.
Well that's it, what I can possibly do providing just 10 pop albums. These are albums if not the best, then they are among the most substantial in the world of pop music. Obviously there are a lot of various other pop stars and superstars and their production which really should have find the place on this selection, but the space on blog is rather limited, so if you want to discover more about pop music, browsing the net there are plenty of expert websites, or on-line edition of popular music authors and music critics. That's all folks and please take pleasure in your popular music.
